Live is fast, fluid and flexible software for creating and playing music. It features all kinds of effects, instruments, sounds, and creative devices-everything you need to make music of any kind.

Use Live's Linear Arrangement View to sequence your music or Session View to improvise and try out ideas without the constraints of a timeline. Change the tempo and metrics of any type of audio, in real time and without interrupting the music thanks to Live's warping. Record MIDI or real instruments, voices, or other audio sources using Live's creative features to fine-tune your performances, blossom new ideas, or turn spontaneous moments into music. Use MIDI Transformations to add variations to your patterns or MIDI Generators to create new ideas that you can turn into your own. With Sound Similarity find presets and sounds comparable to the ones you are working on.

Build your sound with Live's rich variety of instruments and effects, or turn the rich and varied collection of carefully tuned Packs into something new. And because the software lets you do everything in real time and is infinitely customizable, it's perfect for live performances and manual performance, whatever your setup.

And finally there's Push: an expressive hardware tool that makes you independent of the computer, so you can fully immerse yourself in your music.

Live's latest creative features, devices, and sounds include

MIDI Transformations and MIDI Generators: use MIDI Transformations to add embellishments and articulations, draw acceleration and deceleration curves, connect successive notes and chords, and simulate a guitar stroke. Take advantage of MIDI Generators to spark inventive and original ideas to develop and turn into your own. And go even further with Max for Live's advanced Transformations and Generators.

Similarity Sonora: start with a sample and ask the Live browser to find comparable instrument or percussion sounds and presets - with the help of a series of advanced machine learning algorithms. Or use Sound Similarity to find and exchange comparable samples in Simpler or Drum Racks.

Tuning Systems: work outside Equable Temperament and use the tuning you choose with Live devices and any MPE-compatible plug-ins or hardware.

Tones and Scales: transforms or generates ideas within the confines of the selected scale or synchronizes the scale of MIDI devices with the scale of the clip being played.

New Devices: create everything from slight warmth imparted with mastering-level precision to wild and unpredictable sound degradation with Roar, the new saturation and coloration effect. Explore new sound textures and timbres with Meld's two independent sound engines. Or gain even more expressiveness with the latest iteration of Robert Henke's granular synthesis device, Granulator III.

MIDI editor enhancements: use your keyboard and mouse to edit MIDI in new ways. Split a note in two or cut it into multiple parts. Select a series of notes and join them together or have them fill a selected time interval. Access additional utilities from the Height and Tempo Utilities panel, such as Fit to Scale, Humanize, Add Interval or even more.

Workflow Improvements : Stack the Clip View and Device View of Live to get more information about what is happening in your track at a glance. Use Live's mixer directly in Arrangement View to get more information and control without having to switch to Session View and interrupt the flow. Discover new sounds and find them more easily with the new browser tag and search history system. Freeze and flatten a track in one step.

Accessibility and navigation improvements: now visually impaired musicians can access Live's main workflows with screen readers and other assistive technologies and use new keyboard shortcuts to navigate almost any part of Live.

New Packs: discover new tricks for performing on the fly with the four Max for Live devices in the Performance Pack, explore unlikely instruments and unique ambient effects recordings with the Lost and Found collection, and get your hands on authentic hip-hop and trap beats with two drum packs from Sound Oracle.
