In keeping with tradition, the dbx 560A compressor/limiter offers the legendary VCA-based compression and the OverEasy and Hard Knee curves already familiar from the dbx 160A model. With a very wide range of threshold, ratio, and output settings, along with RMS level detection, users achieve the most natural dynamics possible to add energy to percussion, bass, and vocals. It is versatile enough to transition from subtle compression to robust peak limiting. Modulating vocals and instruments with OverEasy mode and using Hard Knee compression to protect against distortion in digital recordings, PA systems, and broadcast signals are just some of the applications where the dbx 560A can demonstrate its strength. The 19-segment LED bar allows for on/off switching, while the 12-segment bar is used to precisely control gain reduction. Added to this is the exclusive "INFINITY +" reverse compression mode, which reduces the output level below unity gain when the input exceeds the threshold-a true lifesaver for correcting overpowering backing vocals and out-of-control levels.
