Hd Qi5002 is a 2 x 500 WRMS power amplifier in 2U format that represents a modular and flexible hardware and software solution for driving Harmonic Design speaker systems.
It includes 4 balanced inputs and 2 power outputs, which can be processed thanks to a high-performance DSP with IIR and FIR filters. The associated hd Level. Z user software allows clear access to all parameters via a Windows-based computer or directly on the amplifier via the 3.2 and #34; LCD display with navigation buttons.
This Class-D power amplifier is designed to meet the highest demands on audio quality and reliability in fixed installation projects and mobile applications. Thanks to the extreme efficiency, heat generation is absolutely reduced to a minimum compared to conventional analogue models: the amplifier requires less cooling and operates permanently in the safe area. An intelligent temperature management system ensures the lowest possible noise emission and only activates the fans when required by the operating situation.
Constantly reliable operation is ensured by a switched-mode power supply with power factor correction (PFC), which provides high performance at all times, even under adverse mains conditions such as under or overvoltage, thanks to the universal operating range of 85 V to 265 VAC and is therefore far superior to conventional power supplies.
For applications requiring more power than this amplifier can deliver, two XLR DSP outputs are used for a conventional amplifier with higher power. In a system with two satellites and two subwoofers, the satellites would work via the hd Qi5002 and the subwoofers via the external power amplifier, but with hd Multi. DSP processing to ensure optimum sound output.
The integrated hd Multi. DSP digital system controller has a complete equalizer section consisting of 16 double precision IIR filters with freely selectable frequency, quality, gain and slope and an input/output FIR filter with a multi-stage limiter present on each channel. This allows the engineer to create a user-specific FIR filter for the installation, using the same approach as conventional multi-band equalizers, but without the inherent phase shifts.
