With the Shure A95U impedance adapter you optimize the performance of your dynamic microphones. You can adapt high impedance microphones to low impedance inputs and vice versa. A compact alternative to traditional D.I.'s, allowing you to extend the cable run without loss on level or interference on the frequency spectrum of the audio signal.
Reversible microphone impedance adapter, fully magnetically shielded, allowing you to adapt high impedance microphones to low impedance inputs and vice versa. The Shure A95U comes as an adapter with a 3-pin male XLR connector in the low-impedance end that on the other end, for the high-impedance end, features an Amphenol MC1M connector to which you can screw either the supplied female jack or the standard ¼ male jack. By default, A95U comes with the low impedance output set to work with microphones or inputs between 75 and 300 Ohms. To work with microphones or inputs between 19 and 75 Ohms, simply change the internal pin soldering on the XLR connector as shown on manual.
You can use this transformer to extend the efficiency of audio transmission when employing very long cables to connect high or low impedance microphones. If you use it with high-impedance microphones, you will need to limit the length of the cable from the microphone to the Shure A95U to a maximum of 4.6 meters, while the cable from the output of the adapter going to the low-impedance input of your listening system (mixer, amplified speaker, or other) will have virtually no limits.
With the Shure A95U transformer you prevent the decay of your microphone's audio performance. You will maintain a signal consistent with the transduced signal, respectful of high frequencies, signal level, and increase rejection against unwanted noise, hum, and other interference that can occur on long cable runs.
The Shure A95U is an excellent alternative to many of the classic box microphone DIs in that it is extremely compact, like an XLR/Jack adapter. In addition to traditional applications, this accessory will also be very useful for those who use vintage microphones with modern audio equipment and for those who need to connect consumer-performance microphones to professional equipment.
