Allen & Heath SQ6+

The Allen & Heath SQ6+ is a digital mixer for live, touring, installation and studio applications, featuring XCVI 96kHz cores, 48 processing channels, 4 dedicated RackUltra FX and 8 standard FX engines for a total of 12 simultaneous effects. Multi-track recording can be done to computer via USB-B 32 In/32 Out or to external mass storage via USB-A. The 128x128 SLink port and dedicated expansion slot allow integration with stageboxes and Dante, Waves and MADI protocols, complementing existing connections: 24 In XLR mic/line, 14 Out XLR analog and AES3 stereo digital output.

SQ6+ is a digital mixer designed for professional contexts where latency, reliability and operational control must be guaranteed under any conditions. At the heart of the system is the 96kHz XCVI FPGA core with variable depth up to 96 bits, enabling latency of less than 0.7 ms and phase-consistent signal handling throughout the chain.

The internal architecture handles 48 fully processed input channels to 44 buses, with 12 configurable mixes, 6 matrices and fully patchable routing. Each channel integrates polarity, trim, variable HPF, gate/expander with sidechain, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor with advanced control, and delay up to 341 ms. Mix channels include 28-band GEQ, PEQ, compression and delay up to 682 ms.

The control surface integrates 25 motorized 100 mm faders on 6 layers, with direct access to input, aux, group, FX, DCA and MIDI. The CH to All Mix function allows simultaneous control of sends, improving operation in FOH and monitor situations.

The 9 (1024x600) capacitive touchscreen handles all routing, processing and configuration functions, with touch-and-turn workflow. The presence of 16 SoftKeys and 4 SoftRotarys enables advanced control customization.

The effects section includes 8 FX engines and 4 RackUltra FX with advanced algorithms that can be used as send/return or insert. The system supports DEEP processing with advanced dynamic models (compressors, expanders, GEQ) without impacting latency or DSP resources.

Two Automatic Mic Mixers configurable up to 48 channels, RTA analyzers, signal generator and scene management system with 300 memories and filtered recall are integrated.

Connectivity includes 24 XLR inputs with up to +60 dB gain, -20 dB pad and +48V phantom, TRS stereo and mini jack inputs, 14 XLR outputs, TRS outputs and AES3 output. The 128x128 SLink port allows integration with stageboxes, ME systems and advanced digital protocols.

The 32x32 USB-B interface allows multitrack recording and DAW integration, while USB-A allows direct recording. Remote control is available via network on desktop and mobile platforms.

Compared with the SQ-6, this SQ6+ model introduces more processing power, 4 FX RackUltra, updated user interface, and ergonomic improvements for optimized interaction.
