Radial Engineering EXTC Stereo

Radial Engineering EXTC Stereo is an interface for connecting guitar effects pedals to the inputs and outputs of professional audio equipment such as: recording systems and mixing consoles, to properly use stereo effects pedals in your recordings and thus explore new creative possibilities.

EXTC Stereo key features

  • Allows connection of stereo guitar pedals to a balanced recording device
  • 1/4 inputs and outputs on the front panel for pedals
  • Send/Return controls to optimize gain staging
  • Enables proper use of effects pedals
  • Very helpful device for sound engineers

EXTC-Stereo allows the proper connection of stereo effects pedals such as reverbs and delays to the Line inputs and outputs of consoles or recording systems. You can also use it creatively to send drum overheads to a Multi-Tap Delay, for example, or breathe new life into a keyboard patch with a Flanger or Chorus pedal. Try it on vocals, strings, or any prerecorded track to add a new creative element to your mixes and revitalize your effects pedal collection.

EXTC-Stereo Applications

Reamping via stereo effects

EXTC-Stereo acts as a bridge between the recording interface and stereo guitar pedals, making it easy to use your favorite effects pedals on any pre-recorded audio track. EXTC-Stereo converts the dry audio signal from line level to instrument level for processing through the pedals, then returns it to line level to record the results.

Connecting mono guitar pedals

Mono guitar pedals work equally well with EXTC-Stereo, and you can connect two sets at once to double your creativity. Connect one pedal chain to the left insert jacks on the EXTC-Stereo and the other to the right.

Reamping via one or two amplifiers

EXTC-Stereo can also be used as other Reamp boxes that feed your tracks through an amplifier. Connect the send jacks to the inputs of your amplifiers and use a microphone to capture the results.

Record directly from a pedalboard

With EXTC-Stereo you can connect your instrument and pedalboard to the line-level inputs of your recording device. Simply connect your pedalboard to the insert receive jacks and adjust the receive level control as needed.
