TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik has created the M80 dynamic microphone to offer users a superior alternative to standard live microphones. Featuring a wider frequency response and higher SPL capabilities, the M80 delivers condenser-like performance while maintaining the design of a rugged dynamic microphone: a microphone suitable for both stage and studio use.

Sound characteristics

Thanks to its low-mass capsule and super-thin (yet surprisingly robust) diaphragm, the M80 is able to capture a wider range of “emotions” from a live voice with an intimacy that has always been typical of studio condenser microphones. The head and capsule assembly has been designed to reduce the proximity effect, while the grilles add clarity in the low end, providing “power,” “authority,” and an “open” and “airy” character without increasing the risk of feedback in the upper midrange.

Design

The M80 features a custom impedance transformer that is the true architect of the microphone's sound. The results of combining this with the proprietary Telefunken capsule have won the hearts of professionals in a very short time since its launch.

Featuring a sturdy black body and chrome headgrille, the M80 is designed to meet the high demands of a touring vocal microphone.
