The G/20 connector is used in the following models of the Quik Lok ITALIAN STANDARD (ITST) series:

- Balanced instrument cable: 6.3 <-> to 6.3 TRS stereo jack

- XLR Male to <-> 6.3 Stereo TRS Jack microphone cable

- Microphone cable: XLR Female <-> 6.3 Stereo TRS Jack

The Jack Connector

The jack connector (jack plug or simply jack) is an electrical connector commonly used to transmit very low-voltage signals, mostly analog audio signals. It was invented in the 19th century for use in telephone switchboards and is one of the oldest electrical connector standards still in use.

Variants

The different versions of jack connectors, based on the number of contacts, are:

TS Jack: 2 contacts, used in audio applications for unbalanced signals

TRS Jack: 3 pins, used in audio applications for balanced stereo or mono signals (also known as a Stereo Jack)

TRRS jack: 4 contacts, used for stereo signals plus a microphone or video channels, switches, etc.

TRRRS jack: 5-pin, used in some portable devices with dual microphones or balanced stereo output, etc.

Diameters

Sub-Mini Jack: 2.5 mm, used for headphones, smartphones, game consoles, camcorders, etc.

Mini Jack: 3.5 mm (1/8 in, Anglo-American standard), used for headphones, smartphones, MP3 players, sound cards, etc.

Jack: 6.3 mm (1/4 in, Anglo-Saxon standard), used for musical instruments, headphones, amplifiers, etc.

NATO Plug: 7.13 mm, used primarily in specialized fields such as military applications, aviation headphones, etc.

Shapes

Straight: The connector's output extends in the same direction as the cable

90° Angled: also known as "pipe jacks" or "L-shaped jacks"; used to save space or prevent impacts, often in combination with the flat style
