Featuring a 1-inch brass dual-diaphragm capsule, the SM4 microphone picks up low frequencies in a clean and controlled manner, capturing high-frequency details. The uniform cardioid polar pattern offers better management of unwanted off-axis noise, and the large “sweet spot” reduces proximity effect. Patent-pending Interference Shielding technology blocks unwanted RF noise from wireless devices such as cell phones, laptops and Wi-Fi routers, while the internal anti-pop filter minimizes interference.

The proprietary system features a built-in anti-pop filter and a woven mesh Faraday cage that shield the microphone capsule for optimal sound pickup.

Shock Mount and External Anti-Pop Filter

Included with the SM4 Home Recording Kit version, also available for purchase separately, the shock mount and detachable anti-pop filter dampen unwanted noise such as rumbling, vibration, and plosive sounds. Together with the microphone's internal filter, the detachable anti-pop filter creates a two-stage filtering system that greatly increases resistance to plosives.
