The Sony a7C II's advanced imaging system is powered by a 33 MP full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ XR processor, a combination that enables 4K images at 10-bits at up to 30fps, or a maximum continuous shooting rate of 10fps with AF and AE using the mechanical or electronic shutter.
The introduction of the back-illuminated structure in the camera sensor enables higher resolution without sacrificing sensitivity.
With an ISO range of 100-51200, expandable to ISO 50-204800, the camera offers low-light performance with minimal noise and a wide dynamic range.
° Autofocus and image stabilisation with AI technology
The Sony a7C II's AI processing unit provides a range of advanced features for the camera's autofocus and image stabilisation systems, ensuring smooth, sharp handling in all shooting conditions.
The camera's 759 phase detection points in photo mode and 495 points in video mode, covering 94% of the image area, are enhanced by AI-based subject recognition and real-time tracking capabilities.
The AI processor also uses a new algorithm for automatic exposure, Human Pose Estimation, to prioritise exposure areas and improve overall exposure accuracy by 20%.
Automatic white balance also benefits from the AI processor's enhancement, helping with difficult lighting conditions.
Other autofocus features include focus bracketing up to 299 frames with sequentially shifted focus points, low-light focusing accuracy down to EV -4.0, focus breathing compensation, autofocus assist, focus mapping, and in-focus peaking.
The Sony FE 28-60mm f/4-5.6 lens is an impressively compact and versatile wide-angle zoom lens with a long focal length that can be folded up and has an elegant profile.
