Its 16 tracks can be used for any of its synthesizer engines or for MIDI, with 16 voices available on the selected synthesizer engines. It is an extremely flexible synthesizer engine that also features a wide range of filters, a powerful note editor and much more. Change the shapes of the oscillators, add phase distortion and oscillator modulation, or precisely define the sound of your noise. WaveTone and Swarmer round out the features of this comprehensive and fascinating instrument. As does FM Tone, the original Digitone FM synthesis engine, which can distort your sound in all kinds of exciting directions. Unleash FM Drum with tons of percussive flexibility and fine-tuning to create your own smacks and booms and everything in between. The improved filters of the Digitone II show just how much depth you can achieve. Use the master compressor via the mixer page, activate sidechaining and other parameters, and the master overdrive for even more control over distortion. The Elektron sequencer is the heart of your instrument. Its 128 steps offer plenty of possibilities for locking parameters, so each step can take you to different places. Or record your tweaks live as you move. Switch to Euclidean sequencer mode and combine two pulse generators to create mathematically controlled sequences that sound almost primal and open up new creative avenues. Per-step conditions, adjustable probabilities and retrig give you even more control. A wealth of features and possibilities make the Digitone II an unrivalled instrument.
