The Control 31 speaker uses high-power components, an optimized horn, and a complex network of components to deliver uniform, high-fidelity sound, a wide frequency range, and well-defined coverage in a compact speaker. The 250-mm low-frequency driver (10'') features a woven fiberglass cone that provides high weather resistance and a butyl rubber surround for crystal-clear sound quality, along with a voice coil designed for high sensitivity, powerful output, and stable performance during continuous operation at maximum power. The optimized cone geometry provides uniform frequency response and good off-axis performance. The linear suspension system ensures low distortion, while the FEA design minimizes harmonic distortion. An external aluminum coupling ring at the mounting point further reduces distortion while increasing sensitivity. The high-frequency driver features a patented design with a high-temperature-resistant polymer diaphragm and fluid cooling to deliver high output levels without distortion. The high-frequency waveguide was designed using JBL's ImageControl to maintain consistent sound characteristics across the entire frequency band throughout the listening area. The symmetrical 110° x 110° coverage preserves these characteristics regardless of the speaker's horizontal or vertical orientation. The line-distribution transformer, designed for minimal losses and minimal saturation, allows for use with 70V or 100V lines. In "Thru" mode, the 8-ohm impedance allows two speakers to be driven by a single 4-ohm amplifier channel. The InvisiBall mounting system simplifies any installation and provides theft protection, as well as off-axis rotation of up to 41° and vertical rotation of up to 36° or 23°. Mounting points for the optional MTC-30UB bracket (and the white "-WH" version) round out the installation options. All components offer maximum weather resistance. Color: white.
