The Elements MK2 115 Sub A is an active subwoofer with DSP and a bass-reflex design. The Class D bi-amplified system delivers a peak power of 3,000 W; its frequency response is (-6 dB) 38 Hz - 175 Hz, with a maximum SPL of 128 dB. The DSP offers remote control options via HK's DSP Control software and supports digital audio transmission via the Milan AVB protocol.
The integrated DSP offers 4 factory presets: FLAT, CONTOUR, VOICE, and REMOTE; the latter enables remote control of the unit via HK's DSP Control software. The DSP in the Elements MK2 115 Sub A is based on the same architecture as the DSPs in the Linear MK2 and Linear 9. This means that the ELEMENTS, LINEAR 5 MK2, and LINEAR 9 can be integrated into shared networks and controlled efficiently. In addition to control data, the Milan-AVB protocol allows audio to be transmitted over a single Ethernet cable.
On the rear panel of the Elements MK2 115 Sub A, there are two RJ45 Ethernet ports-in and thru-for remote control of the DSP and for transmitting and receiving digital audio via the Milan AVB network. As for analog connections, there is a combo XLR/¼-inch jack input with a dedicated "Sub Gain" volume control, as well as Thru and DSP Out outputs, also on XLR connectors.
Speakers that do not have their own DSP technology can be connected to the DSP OUT output, which provides a 10-band semi-parametric equalizer, high-pass filter, low-pass filter, delay, polarity, and limiter to process the signal independently of the Elements MK2 Sub 115 A's main DSP configuration.
