Akai Professional EWI 5000

The EWI5000 is the flagship product of AKAI Professional's Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI) series. Innovative design is blended with unique features such as wireless audio/MIDI connectivity and a built-in sound library based on a 3 GB wavetable produced by SONiVOX. This digital wind instrument is the most powerful and versatile ever. Ultra-low latency 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity allows EWI5000 users to perform freely on stage or record in the studio. The instrument and receiver communicate wirelessly over distance for both stereo audio and MIDI control messages. EWI5000 is still equipped with traditional audio and MIDI connectors. Of course, given the wireless connectivity, there is a rechargeable lithium battery with a battery life of about 6 hours. The AKAI Professional EWI5000 has stereo audio outputs on 1/4 TRS Jack connectors and a 1/8 headphone output. A USB cable and power adapter useful for charging the built-in lithium battery are also provided.

For precise control of volume and pitch dynamics, the AKAI Pro EWI5000 features an ultra-sensitive mouthpiece with pressure and mouthpiece sensors. In addition, there are 8 controls for parameter management: filter, reverb, chorus, LFO, blow and mouthpiece intensity, semitone and fine pitch. The AKAI Pro EWI5000 is an extremely powerful and flexible instrument that expands the sonic possibilities of performance for those who habitually play reed wind instruments. You can adapt the instrument to your habitual playing by selecting from different fingerings: flute, oboe or sax. An EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument) mode is also available for emulating brass instruments. MIDI connectivity is available either via USB port for direct connection to a computer or via MIDI OUT connector in traditional pentapolar DIN format to control virtually any type of expander, synthesizer or hardware and/or software sampler. The EWI5000 has 3 GB of high-quality internal sounds, sampled and programmed by SONiVOX, to meet virtually any sonic need and musical genre, from orchestral timbres (trumpets, brass, general winds, strings) to less traditional sounds such as evolutionary synths, basses and leads. The Sound Editor software for EWI5000, once the EWI 5000 is connected via USB, will allow you to manage and edit sounds to your liking on PC and Mac, so you can save, load and export various settings.
