Warm Audio's Foxy Tone Box is an accurate reproduction of one of the most sought-after and beloved pedals of all time, used in the early 1970s by such masters as Billy Gibbons and Peter Frampton, and nowadays by the likes of Adrian Belew, Nine Inch Nails, and Beck. Lined in velvet just like the vintage pedals, the Warm Audio Foxy Tone Box faithfully recreates the vintage circuits and offers the user the chunky tone, octave-up sounds, and aesthetics of the original unit at a significantly more affordable cost.
The specific components used in the pedal circuitry, are a critical factor in how it reacts to the way you play. This is why each Foxy Tone Box is hand-assembled using quality components. Warm Audio searched far and wide for a supply of the Fairchild NOS (New Old Stock) transistors used in the original units. He then paired them with germanium diodes, carbon resistors and film capacitors to bring back the sonic dough of the vintage pedals. This pedal then features true bypass and has a unique sound.
Just like the original unit, the Foxy Tone Box has Volume, Sustain and Fuzz controls (Mellow to Brite) along with a switch to activate a pronounced octave effect. From a velvety sound with a slight crunch to a high-impact fuzz across the entire sound band, this pedal is a complete collection of powerful sounds encased in an orange velvet box.
The electric guitar is its most obvious application, but it can also be used on synths, drum machines, acoustic and electric basses, and more.
