Key features The 4466 CORE omnidirectional headset microphone combines the renowned 5 mm capsules with CORE by DPA technology and the award-winning 6066 headband. These are the most advanced headsets-secure, durable, and flexible-for use in theater, broadcast, places of worship, and conferences. This omnidirectional microphone offers clean, transparent sound quality and great dynamics. The microphone's sensitivity is 6 mV/Pa. This matches the level of the human voice to the typical input sensitivity of most wireless transmitters. When properly powered, the microphone will be able to handle very high sound pressure levels up to 134 dB SPL so that users can speak and sing into the microphone without any hint of distortion. The maximum SPL handling of up to 144 dB is impressive. The mechanical construction of the headset is technically very advanced. The new headband, suitable for all sizes, is the most advanced design on the market. It ensures comfort, even during prolonged use, but without sacrificing safety. Its shape fits gently, wraps around the head, and is easily adjustable. The spring mechanisms that rest on the ears are delicate but solid enough to make you feel secure during performance. The headset can also be customized on site to fit individual artists for a perfect fit. These features are also why it was awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award in 2019. One size fits all, adjustable headband The headband is made of stainless steel and treated with a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating that makes it extremely robust. It can tolerate high temperatures and is resistant to impact and abrasion. It is one size fits all with a simple adjustment mechanism for quick and easy resizing. Anatomically correct, it fits comfortably and wraps around the head thanks to its unique shape. The entire microphone has a pleasant matte finish thanks to the coating, which makes the headset small and less intrusive than other solutions. Furthermore, it does not add thickness to the structure, as PVD is extremely resistant but at the same time extremely thin. The boom is 130 mm long but can be easily adjusted to fit perfectly with the performer's smile angle (the optimal positioning of a headset microphone). Not only can the boom be extended/shortened, but it can also be rotated up or down from a fixed point below the ear (no more bending the boom). An anti-rotation mechanism integrated into the shape of the arm prevents unwanted rotation. A sliding locking system ensures that the boom is fixed in the desired position. The entire boom can be removed at a point below the ear and moved to the right or left side of the headband. 3-Point ear support The ear supports on our headset feature remarkable technology. Most headbands use a 1- or 2-point support system on the top of the ear or (sometimes) under the ear. This headset is based on a 3-point support system, adding a support area behind the ear that gently presses inward. 90° Cable management system The headset has a cable guide on the back of the headband, so you can easily manage the cable by running it discreetly down the back of the performer. The cable guide slides from side to side, so it can be moved, for example, to the opposite side of the camera. The special construction protects the cable from arm movement, preventing it from being pulled inadvertently. This helps to ensure that the microphone cable has a long service life. The cable is often the weak point in these types of microphones, but we have chosen to use a cable of the same size (Ø 1.6 mm) as those used on other models. These cables are extremely robust, do not get tangled, and feature an internal Kevlar core that resists violent tearing, representing the highest standard on the market. The design of the cable and capsule ensures immunity to noisy wireless devices. These microphones are typically connected to a transmitter, and a full range of adapters is available to connect them to the many wireless transmitters available. When used with an adapter, the connector is our MicroDot, but we also offer wired versions to fit popular systems such as Shure and Sennheiser. All our connectors feature a robust cable clamp.
