The Neumann MCM 114 Stereo Set Universal is the most comprehensive kit in the Miniature Clip Mic System. It contains two microphone chains with KK 14 cardioid capsules and a wide selection of clips and cables, allowing you to handle stereo or dual-microphone recordings of a wide variety of acoustic instruments-both in concert and in the studio-with just a single case. The KK 14 capsules are electret condenser microphones with a cardioid polar pattern, hand-assembled in Germany using a layered construction that ensures tonal consistency across units: they can be used together without the need for pairing. The frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, self-noise of 23 dB-A, and handling level up to 153 dB SPL provide uncompromising coverage for both delicate instruments and very powerful sound sources. The set includes two SH 150 goosenecks and three pairs of clips: MC 1 for the body of a violin, viola, mandolin, and similar instruments; MC 3 for the double bass strings under the bridge; MC 9 for the body of a guitar, ukulele, dobro, acoustic bass, or cello. Each mount rotates and locks in 45° increments for precise positioning. The real highlight is the connectivity: in addition to the two MCM 100 output stages with XLR connectors, the set includes two cables for each type, all 1.8 m long: AC 31 mini-jack, AC 32 3-pin LEMO, AC 33 MicroDot, and AC 34 4-pin mini-XLR.
