KeyLab Essential 3 49 Alpine White is a MIDI controller in Alpine White finish with a full-size 49-key (4-octave) keyboard, designed for DAW production and live performance: dedicated controls (encoders, faders and RGB pads), 2.5 display, advanced integration with Analog Lab and dedicated scripts for major DAWs, plus MIDI Out to control external hardware.
The full-size 49-key (4-octave) keyboard offers a hybrid synth/piano feel with sensitivity to dynamics: responsive enough for rhythm lines and synth parts, but also comfortable on wider voicings and piano/EP-style keys parts. Basically, 49 keys give you an effective extension for two-handed playing, programming chords and basses without constant octave changes.
The control panel is designed to take the mouse out of the operational stages: the 2.5 display provides contextual feedback, while encoders and faders allow you to intervene on levels, pan, send, plug-in parameters, and virtual instruments. The 8 RGB pads (with 2 banks) cover finger drumming, clip launching or user assignments. In this White configuration, the interface remains clear and readable even in live settings.
KeyLab Essential 3 is designed to integrate quickly: dedicated scripts for popular DAWs and MCU/HUI compatibility to adapt to different workflows. With Analog Lab, controls are consistently mapped for browsing presets, key parameters, and effects, so you can turn your setup into a workstation that echoes the analog 'hardware based' workflow. If you work with multiple projects or multiple templates, user programs help you recall custom mappings without wasting time.
In addition to control, there are functions designed to generate ideas quickly: Scale mode locks notes to a selected scale to avoid harmonic errors; Chord Play allows you to recall complex chords with a single key; the arpeggiator can turn chords and notes into patterns and melodies, and the Hold function allows you to sustain notes/arp without holding down keys. These functions are perfect for quick sketches, pre-production, and performances where immediacy is needed.
In addition to the USB-C connection (power and MIDI), the presence of 5-pin MIDI Out makes it easy to control external synths and drum machines and synchronize hardware in your project. The pedal input is multi-functional: it can be configured as sustain, footswitch or expression, so it can adapt to playing and performance. The White variant keeps all connections and functional equipment identical.
The controller includes a software bundle designed for immediate production and playing: Analog Lab (with thousands of presets), Ableton Live Lite for recording and production, instruments and additional content from companies such as Native Instruments, UVI Model D, Loopcloud and Melodics. The project is called eco-designed: attention to materials and packaging are aimed at reducing the impact on the environment without having to sacrifice the use and quality of the final product.
NB: Software applications are included free of charge for promotional purposes and may change over time without notice.
