Arturia Keystep 37 MK2

KeyStep 37 MK2 is a 37-key polyphonic Slimkey MIDI controller and sequencer with aftertouch, 4 dedicated encoders, 39 LEDs that show us the notes played, and a 16-mode generative arpeggiator. The sequencer can go up to 64 steps with pattern chaining and recording function. The 4 CV/Gate outputs (Pitch, Gate, Mod 1, Mod 2), full-size MIDI DIN In/Out, Sync I/O, pedal input, and USB-C class compliant allow us to control a wide range of hardware, and with the included Analog Lab Intro software (with a package of more than 500 sounds included) and Ableton Live Lite, we can immediately start working and exploring DAW environments.

Arturia KeyStep 37 mk2 is designed to become the operational center of any hybrid setup. It combines extended playability, advanced generative tools, instant physical control and full connectivity to modular environments, analog hardware and DAWs. It is ideal for jamming, live performance and developing musical ideas in the studio.

The 37-note Slimkey keyboard with velocity and aftertouch provides expressive control in a compact format. Dedicated capacitive strips for pitch bend and modulation allow dynamic interventions in real time. Polyphonic sequencer supports up to 64 steps with 8 voices of polyphony, quantized and unquantized recording, overdub and pattern chaining. The 16-mode arpeggiator integrates generative patterns capable of transforming played notes into evolving phrases with length and octave control.

Mutate and Spice and Dice

The Mutate, Spice and Dice functions allow real-time variations on patterns, note lengths, silences and octaves.

Mutate allows you to transform sequences and arpeggios instantly, from subtle variations to radical evolutions.

The Spice and Dice function introduces controlled randomness into rhythmic patterns. Dynamic Gate Length management allows you to sculpt the duration of notes for expressive or percussive results.

Display and Controls

OLED display with clickable encoder enhances parameter navigation, while the four dedicated encoders offer direct control over Arpeggiator, Sequencer and Mutate or can be assigned to MIDI CC and CV/Gate. The MIDI CC system with 4 banks provides access to 16 assignable controls.

Hardware and software connectivity

Connectivity includes USB-C class compliant with bus power, full-size MIDI DIN In/Out, Sync I/O3.5mm, sustain/expression pedal input and four CV outputs configurable as Pitch, Gate, Mod 1 and Mod 2, assignable to velocity, aftertouch, mod wheel, random per step or pulse per step.

Software included

Analog Lab Intro with more than 500 sounds and Ableton Live Lite are included.

What's new in Arturia KeyStep 37 MK2

KeyStep 37 mk2 introduces 5 additional keys for a total of 37 notes, 2 additional buttons and 4 encoders dedicated to managing submenus and generative parameters. This drastically improves playability while maintaining the same operating philosophy.

A strip consisting of 39 LEDs above the keyboard indicates the notes played and the progress of sequences, providing immediate visual feedback. USB-C, Mod 2 output, dedicated power switch, dedicated Mutate button and improved OLED interface are also introduced.
