Combining exceptional photographic performance with adequate video capabilities, the Canon EOS R6 Mark II is a versatile mirrorless camera for multimedia content creators. An updated 24.2 MP CMOS sensor is paired with updated processing for improved AF, impressive 10-bit 4K 60p video, and faster overall performance. In addition, the camera body has been updated for more intuitive handling, including a redesigned top plate for easier access to different shooting modes.
Hitting a sweet spot in terms of resolution, the R6 Mark II incorporates a new 24.2 MP CMOS sensor that is versatile for both still and video applications, performs well in low light, and produces amazing, accurate colors.
Borrowed from the R3, the updated processing of the R6 Mark II adapts to the multimedia nature of the camera. Capable of processing high-speed bursts and high-resolution 4K video, DIGIC X supports continuous shooting at up to 40 fps with a silent electronic shutter or 12 fps with a mechanical shutter, with AF and AE readings before each frame. There is also a RAW Burst mode at 30 fps, which offers pre-shooting capture to record the moments that occurred up to 0.5 seconds before the shutter was pressed.
In addition, improved processing leads to better performance in low light conditions, with the sensitivity range now extending from ISO 100-102400 and expandable to ISO 204800 for working in very difficult lighting conditions.
In addition to still images, the R6 Mark II sensor also offers high-resolution UHD 4K 60p internal video using the full width of the sensor and the ability to work with 10-bit sampling with Canon Log 3. A 6K recording area can also be used for oversampling 4K shots at 30p for better sharpness, reduced moiré and reduced noise. In addition, for slow motion playback, 180p recording is supported up to Full HD resolution.
HDR-PQ recording is also possible for in-camera HDR production and external recording, via the micro-HDMI port, which supports clean 6K output at up to 60 fps. In addition, unlimited recording times are also possible and the R6 Mark II is equipped with microphone and headphone ports, as well as a multi-function shoe for wide compatibility with accessories.
Using the micro-HDMI port, raw video recording is possible when paired with a compatible external recorder. ProRes RAW up to 6K 60p is possible using the full width of the sensor and 3.7K raw recording with a crop.
Appreciated for its versatility, the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM is a wide-angle to short telephoto zoom characterized by a constant maximum aperture of f/4. Ideal for use in almost any shooting scenario, this zoom features an effective five-stop image stabilizer to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld images. Complementing the handling is also a unique customizable control ring, which can be configured to adjust a variety of exposure settings, including aperture, ISO and exposure compensation. For the benefit of image quality, the advanced optical design features a Super Spectra coating, which helps to eliminate ghosting and flare to improve contrast and color accuracy when working in bright and backlit conditions. Ideal for both photographic and video applications, this lens also incorporates a Nano USM autofocus motor, which offers speed and silence.
