Radial Engineering IC-1 Ice Cube

Radial IceCube IC-1 is a balanced line isolator: simply inserting it into the signal path quickly eliminates hum and hiss in an audio system. The compact design features two fiberglass-reinforced nylon XLRs at each end, with robust oxidation-proof nickel-silver contacts, in the space of only 10 x 4 cm. Unlike other plastic insulators, IceCube is made of sturdy 16 mm powder-coated steel. The steel outer shell is not only more durable, but also provides excellent protection against electromagnetic fields radiated by electrical cables, dimmers, motors, and power supplies-with increasingly quiet results when active. This feature is emphasized by a "set & forget" ground lift switch that eliminates hum and hiss caused by ground loops. Inside the IceCube, an Eclipse-exclusive transformer isolates the input from the output and blocks stray DCs. While small transformers rarely operate well below 100Hz, IceCube is exceptionally linear between 20Hz to 18kHz. It can also withstand up to +10dB at 20Hz with less than 0.01% distortion. It is a fast and simple "problem solver" that will eliminate noise without limiting bandwidth or causing phase inversion.
