High-quality preamplifier in a 1U rack

Camden EC2 is a two-channel microphone preamplifier in a 19” rack format with the same circuitry as the renowned Camden 500, analog ‘mojo’ saturation circuits, and two high-quality headphone amps that can also monitor the two auxiliary line inputs for zero-latency listening.

Award-winning sound pedigree

Thanks to two separate preamps with “Camden” technology, developed for the Camden 500, the Camden EC2 offers incredible performance, low background noise, and minimal harmonic distortion, as well as unparalleled linearity (in frequency response and phase) at any gain setting. The result is -129.8dB EIN (150ohm), THD+N 0.0002%, frequency response of ±0.7dB from 5Hz to 200kHz at gain and <2° phase shift @ 20Hz – 20kHz.

Vintage personality

By inserting our custom analog saturation circuit called “Mojo,” the Camden EC2 is able to emulate the sound of famous British preamps (and their beloved transformers). Bypassing the “Mojo” circuit, it can be an incredibly clean and natural instrument. Using the preamps in “Line” mode, the Mojo saturation circuit can apply vintage coloration to your stems and even stereo mixes.

Dual-channel preamplification and D.I. for instruments

Thanks to a transformerless topology and a 68.5dB gain stage, the Camden EC2 delivers incredible performance in terms of background noise, distortion, frequency response, and phase with any gain setting (12 steps). Each preamp channel of the EC2 has an input impedance and headroom tailored to microphone, line, and high-impedance sources, thanks to a 3-position switch on each channel.

Dual headphone mixer

Two reference-quality headphone amps with discrete line mixers allow direct monitoring of both Camden preamps using headphones connected to the front panel of the Camden EC2.

You can listen to the preamps while positioning microphones to find the sweet spot of a guitar cabinet, speaker, or acoustic instrument; or you can configure them to create a completely analog, zero-latency monitor mix by combining the Camden preamps with playback from an external source via the Aux Inputs on the rear panel.
