The HA73EQ Elite is a single-channel preamplifier/equalizer, made with the same quality as the renowned Heritage Audio ´73JR, '73EQJR and DMA73 models and available at a price that has never been lower. A combination of mass production and modern technology, it optimizes labor costs in manufacturing (which are higher when construction takes place in Europe) and contains the final price.In this way, Heritage Audio produces the most affordable preamplifiers and equalizers in its class. Keeping costs down does not mean giving up components that are critical to achieving a true vintage sound, such as the renowned Carnhill transformers handmade in St.Ives, England. None of the various '73 equalizers could ensure the correct EQ curve without high-quality capacitors and, most importantly, without the correct "Vinkor" inductors. Very often, in these kinds of products, these more valuable inductances are replaced by generic ferrite models or, even worse the dual mid-band inductance is replaced by a single one. Inconceivable for a Heritage Audio product! The consequences of this approximation are terrible and lead to incorrect EQ curves and phase distortion at high frequencies, unacceptable in this kind of equipment. HA73EQ Elite uses WIMA 5% capacitors in the EQ section and 3 vintage "Vinkor" inductors to achieve EQ curves practically identical to those of the most prized Heritage Audio equalizers-you can recapture the feel and renowned sound quality typical of this esteemed brand. HA73EQ's preamp section includes gain, output trim, -20db pad, reverse polarity, high pass filter and +48 V phantom power supply. The EQ section includes a high shelving EQ, midrange EQ, low shelving EQ, a variable high pass filter and EQ Bypass. The HA73EQ's sturdy single rack unit is made of British steel and uses an external power supply to work with low noise. Made in Heritage Audio's Spanish factories, the HA73EQ Elite provides the tone of a classic vintage bench channel, sought after for its great musicality and ability to beautify any sound source.
