The Neumann KH 870 II AES67 combines the power of the KH series' flagship subwoofer with audio-over-IP connectivity. It is designed for large control rooms and broadcast and post-production facilities that have already adopted AES67 networks and want to integrate the monitoring system directly into the network, reducing cabling and conversions. According to Neumann, the AES67 version accepts up to 12 AES67 input channels and is fully compliant with SMPTE ST 2110 and ST 2022-7 redundancy, in addition to supporting RAVENNA, NMOS, and streams generated by Dante systems. The subwoofer can therefore be managed as a network node, with the security of the dual redundant connection required in broadcast environments. The acoustic section is the same as that of the KH 870 II: two 265 mm (10-inch) woofers protected by a metal grille, a 360 W amplifier, and a free-field frequency response ranging from 16 to 750 Hz (±6 dB) and from 18 to 310 Hz (±3 dB), with a maximum sound pressure level of 114.9 dB in half-space up to 120.9 dB at a corner. Bass management supports stereo, surround, and immersive configurations up to 7.1.4, with support from the MA 1 automatic alignment system for room correction. The KH 870 II AES67 is the ideal solution for Dolby Atmos mixing rooms, OB vans, television production centers, and large studios seeking deep, powerful bass in a fully network-based Neumann monitoring system.
