The Sennheiser Spectera SKM (1G4) is the handheld transmitter for the Spectera broadband digital wireless system, in the version that operates in the 1.4 GHz band (1350-1400 MHz and 1435-1525 MHz; availability subject to national regulations). Thanks to the WMAS (Wireless Multichannel Audio System) approach, the transmitter does not require a dedicated narrowband frequency: it integrates into the wideband RF environment already managed by the Spectera Base Station, simplifying frequency coordination even with multiple channels. The integrated control channel ensures continuous two-way communication with the Base Station: the technician monitors battery status, RF performance, audio levels, signal strength, and connection quality in real time, and can remotely adjust gain and the low-cut filter without having to go on stage. Latency can be as low as 1.0 ms, and the audio response ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz (+-1 dB) in SeDAC and PCM modes. The connection is protected by AES-256 encryption. The metal housing is rugged and features an OLED display. The standard capsule interface supports a wide range of Sennheiser and Neumann microphone heads, from the dynamic MMD 835-1/945-1 to the condenser MMK 965-1, MME 865-1, and Neumann KK 104 A, KK 105 A, KK 204, and KK 205. Power is supplied by the BA 70 (or BA 70 2.2) rechargeable battery-the same as that used in the Spectera SEK bodypack-providing over 6 hours of battery life in live mode. Typical applications: concerts and tours, theater and musicals, broadcast, places of worship, and large multichannel installations. The capsule and battery are sold separately.
