The Sennheiser SKM 6000 BK A5-A8 COM is the digital handheld transmitter from the Digital 6000 series in a black finish, the COM version with a control button, which operates in the A5-A8 frequency range from 550 to 638 MHz. Thanks to its switchable bandwidth of 88 MHz and a tuning step of 25 kHz, this variant covers the central portion of the UHF band and is suitable for countries and situations where spectrum is available in that range, even in combination with transmitters from other series to expand the number of channels. According to Sennheiser, the integrated control button allows audio to be routed directly to the control room for private communication with the crew-a feature designed for hosts, moderators, and stage managers in TV, corporate events, and entertainment. The transmitter is designed for use with the EM 6000 and EM 6000 Dante receivers. The transmission technology is engineered to operate without intermodulation, allowing for the use of an equidistant frequency grid and maximizing the use of the available spectrum. In Long Range mode, the transmitter uses the SeDAC codec and offers an audio response from 30 Hz to 20 kHz; it is also compatible with the EK 6042 and EM 9046 receivers from the Digital 9000 series; in Link Density mode, with the SePAC codec, it allows up to 5 connections per MHz, ideal when there are many channels and the spectrum is limited. Transmission can be secured with AES 256 or Digital 9000 encryption. The magnesium body combines durability and lightness. The standard Sennheiser capsule interface allows for the attachment of microphone heads from the evolution wireless, 2000, and Digital 9000 series, as well as the Neumann KK 204 and KK 205 capsules: the capsule is not included and must be selected based on the application. All parameters can be adjusted using the lockable function buttons or via infrared synchronization with the receiver; the backlit LCD display shows battery status and remaining runtime in hours and minutes, frequency or channel name, lock status, and encryption status. Power is supplied by the BA 60 rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack (up to 5.5 hours of runtime) or the B 60 battery compartment for standard batteries; both are sold separately.
