Primacoustic Control Cubes is a kit of 12 square sound-absorbing panels from the Broadway series, ideal for treating any room, in gray. Each panel measures 60.96 x 60.96 cm and is 51 mm thick. In this version, the panels feature a beveled edge.
Primacoustic Broadway panels are made of high-density fiberglass (96 kg/m³) and offer nearly five times the absorption of typical low-cost foam alternatives (pyramidal and embossed). This means you'll achieve greater absorption using fewer panels, while ensuring a uniform attenuation curve across the entire frequency range.
Primacoustic Control Cubes are an easy-to-install solution for treating spaces where maximum control over early reflections is required. Made of high-density glass wool, they measure 60.96 x 60.96 cm and are square in shape, with a thickness of 51 mm. They are designed to be spaced according to a predefined pattern on large or small surfaces or walls to create an effect called Primacoustic Soft Diffusion. Control Cubes panels offer a cost-effective alternative to traditional rectangular or skyline diffusers placed along all surfaces of the room.
To reduce standing waves within the room, it is best to position these panels so that there is an alternation between absorption and reflection. The Broadway series panels are perfect for installation either flush against the wall using Surface Impalers or at an angle to increase their absorption in the low-frequency range.
The gray Control Cubes panels are easy to install using the specially designed Primacoustic Surface Impalers and Primacoustic Corner Impalers. The Primacoustic Impaler system is designed to provide users or installers with a simple, quick, and effective method for mounting Broadway fiberglass acoustic panels on walls without causing significant damage to the surface. The galvanized steel impaler features a series of protruding, sharp prongs that penetrate the panel to secure it in place during installation. To ensure the panels do not shift after installation, we recommend applying a small amount of adhesive to the tips of the Impaler during the mounting process; this adds an extra layer of security and reduces the risk of tampering. The Impaler mounts are secured to the surface using standard anchors and screws for concrete or drywall.
All Broadway panels are laboratory-tested for acoustic performance and fire safety. Class A/1 fire-rated, they meet the stringent ASTM-E84 and CAN-UL S102 requirements for flame spread and smoke development. This makes Broadway panels safe for use in commercial, government, and institutional installations.
Step 1: Use a spirit level to draw a straight line with a pencil where the top of the panels will be positioned. Measure along this line and carefully mark where the corners of each panel will be. If you plan to space the panels apart, include the measurement of the space between them.
Use one Surface Impaler per panel.
Step 2: Hold the Surface Impaler clip against the wall and mark the positions of the screw holes. Precise alignment is not necessary. The clips can be positioned anywhere within the panel's space. Using a drill, drill holes and install the wall anchors that will support each flange clip.
Next, install each bracket, making sure to tighten the screws securely!
Step 3: Tilt the panel so that the top edge touches the wall. Carefully align it with the straight line and the marks you made in Step 1. Remember to place a spirit level on top of the panel to keep it straight as you guide it onto the clips. After aligning the panel perpendicularly, bring the back into contact with all the Impaler tips. Apply just enough pressure to push the panel onto the support tips. The panel will slide onto the Impalers and sink in about 2 cm.
Now the panel is properly installed!
