Radial Engineering's Reamp Station combines in one device the features an active DI box and the renowned Reamper JCR. It is the ideal partner for high-quality recordings and professional reamping. It has advanced connections, compact design, and innovative features that can simplify your workflow while allowing you to experiment with new creative possibilities in the studio.
A Reamping session must begin with a clean, high-quality direct recording-that's why the DI you choose is so important. The active part of Reamp Station's DI is based on Radial's renowned J48, optimized to provide maximum benefit in recording tracks that can later be Reamped, such as the buffer switch, which activates a unity-gain Class A circuit on the Thru output, which avoids loading the passive pickups when connected to an amplifier, preserving the natural timbre of the instrument. The DI circuit is powered via 48 V phantom from the interface or mixer, so there is no need for a separate power supply, while an LED on the front panel displays power reception.
The Reamper section of the Reamp Station is familiar to many sound engineers and home recording enthusiasts. The JCR Reamper features a Made in USA transformer with custom windings that optimizes line signals from an audio interface to feed pedals and guitar amps, while also including a level control, three-position filter, and Mute switch ideal for adjusting microphone placement on a live amp. In addition to balanced 1/4 XLR and TRS inputs for the Reamper, there is also a 3.5 mm Mini Jack input for connecting to mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
With a high-quality active DI box and the JCR Reamper, the Reamp Station is the essential piece of equipment for studio recording. With this unit next to your amplifier, you can seamlessly switch between recording and reamping while exploring new sounds, knowing that you will always get the highest quality audio during each step. It is also rack mountable using the optional SA Series adapter, while the Link In/ Out connections allow Daisy-Chain connection of multiple Reamp units.
Recording a clean, noise-free 'dry' track is an essential step in studio reamping. The Reamp Station's active DI box captures the instrument signal without coloration or distortion, providing the perfect template for future adjustments. A Thru output feeds a guitar amplifier for monitoring or microphone recording.
Once the performance has been recorded and the recorded track can be played back through the pedals and amplifiers, experimenting with new timbral combinations with peace of mind and time for adjustments, seeking the ideal balance without tiring the guitarist out.
With the Reamp Station, you can play back any recorded track through the effects pedals as if they were studio hardware components. It is possible to send the Reamped signal to the pedals as usual, but skip the amplifier and connect it back to the Reamp Station's instrument input. The direct output of the unit sends a Micro-level signal to your audio interface that is ideal for recording.
