Radial Engineering Bassbone V2

Bassbone V2 from Radial Engineering is a compact 2-channel high-quality preamplifier for electric bass guitar. Up to two different instruments with active, passive, or piezo electronics can be connected and managed with this device. Each channel has independent level and EQ control: channel A has a preset EQ with two adjustments; channel B a passive 3-band EQ, to which is added the adjustable and footswitchable Boost, a function that provides additional boost to the sound, ideal for solos. On Bassbone V2 you can also connect external effects via Loop Send/Return, a tuner, control signal phase, eliminate parasitic noise with Ground Lift, connect directly to a PA or recording system, from the balanced XLR output.

Notable features of Bassbone V2

  • High-quality two-channel bass preamplifier
  • Can handle 2 different instruments or just one with two different settings
  • Addressable effects loops with footswitch
  • Variable clean boost circuit and EQ controls
  • PZB booster and piezo input for double bass
  • Built-in DI with balanced XLR output for PA

The most advanced control for electric bass guitar

Bassbone V2 allows you to control two electric basses of any type: active, passive (magnetic) and upright (piezo). Activating the PZB booster inserts a special Boost circuit for piezo transducers that increases sensitivity and impedance to 10 megaOhms, which results in a much wider signal width. The 2 channels allow independent timbre setting for each instrument with its own optimized timbre and level; or you can use this feature to have two different settings on the same instrument. Bassbone V2 integrates a footswitchable effects loop between the two inputs, in the same way you can use the dedicated output to connect a tuner and quietly tune your instrument, Bassbone's balanced output with XLR connector allows its direct connection with PA System or recording or mixing console.

Applications of Bassbone V2

Using Bassbone V2 with two different electric basses

Bassbone V2 allows you to alternate between two basses of each type. You can use Channel 1 and your amplifier's equalizer to set the main tone. While instead the versatile Channel 2 equalizer can best shape the sound of each instrument.

Switch from Contrabass to Electric Bass

The Bassbone V2's high-performance preamplifier is suitable for all instruments, including the double bass. This allows you to alternate between electric and acoustic and optimize the tone sent to the onstage amplifier and PA System. You can also connect effects pedals via using the built-in effects loop.

Using Bassbone V2 with a single electric bass guitar

Bassbone V2 is the ultimate control device for any electric bass guitar. Channel 1 can be set to flat or emphasized with the two EQ presets. While channel 2 has a versatile 3-band equalizer to shape the tone of your instrument to your liking.
