Radial Engineering JD 7

With RADIAL ENGINEERING's JD7 guitar distributor/splitter you can control up to 7 different amplifiers and 2 effects loops with a single instrument, while maintaining natural tone and without introducing hum or other artifacts. JD7 also integrates Direct Box and Reamping functions.

Notable features

  • Controls up to 7 amplifiers and 2 effects loops simultaneously
  • Jensen transformer isolation eliminates hum and vibration
  • Direct Box RADIAL and Reamp functionality built in
  • Drag Control for natural tone

JD7's natural timbre

The JD7 Guitar Signal Distributor and Splitter can control up to 7 amplifiers at once; it is equipped on the outputs with Jensen transformers that ensure signal transfer free of distortion, hum, and ground loops. JD7 is designed with a 100% discrete class A signal path with no operational amplifiers, combined with Drag+- Control, a load correction circuit that reintroduces the natural relationship between guitar and amplifier that is lost by buffering the signal, this combination maintains the original timbre including the feeling of having connected the instrument directly to the amplifier.

Live Recording and Reamp

JD7 integrates a RADIAL DI box that allows transferring a clean guitar track directly to the recording system while simultaneously playing on multiple amplifiers. The Reamp input sends the recorded guitar track from the recorder to one or more amplifiers, so you can concentrate on playing with the ability to adjust amplifiers and microphones later.

Applications of JD7

Using JD7 as a splitter

JD7 has A or B inputs and 6 guitar outputs on the front panel, plus a tuner output on the back. Use ch-1 with a properly grounded amplifier, then add more as desired. All outputs are isolated to eliminate hum and vibration.

Using JD7 for reamping

Start by recording a clean track using the DI output of JD7. Then send the clean track to the XLR input on the rear panel of the Radial JD7. Adjust the level and you are ready to drive all the amps you need. Move microphones around, and change timbre settings as well.

Using JD7 with effects

A great way to correct noisy guitars is to run all signals through JD7. The high-performance class-A buffers and Jensen transformer-isolated outputs are truly amazing! Channels 5 and 6 also feature effects loops.
