Radial Engineering JS 2

RADIAL ENGINEERING's JS2 is a high-performance passive balanced microphone splitter designed to send a signal without degradation to multiple destinations simultaneously, it has one Jensen transformer-isolated output and two direct outputs.

JS2 Highlights

  • Sends a microphone signal to three destinations simultaneously
  • Jensen transformer for exceptional audio quality
  • Eliminates hum and noise caused by ground loops
  • Single isolated output ensures optimal noise rejection

Portable microphone splitter on stage or in the studio

JS2 is a professional microphone splitter designed to split a single source to multiple destinations simultaneously without signal degradation or noise. A superior Jensen transformer inside provides galvanic isolation to eliminate hum and ground loop noise while maintaining extremely wide bandwidth with ultra-low distortion and phase shift. Ground sockets on the outputs help further reduce noise, while an input pad also allows line-level sources to be connected. Both the JS2 and JS3 can be rack-mounted for touring and installations, and up to eight can be inserted into the J-Rak Radial.

Applications of JS2

2-way split

The Radial JS2 is the perfect interface for splitting a microphone to feed more than one mixer at the same time. The 100% isolation eliminates potential ground loops between the two consoles to ensure quiet performance. The main output provides a 48 V phantom power return path to the microphone.

Using JS2 to compare two microphone preamplifiers

In the studio, it is often advantageous to compare the sound of two microphone preamplifiers on a particular vocal. JS2 is ideal for this purpose, as it does not color the sound of the microphone or add distortion. Simple plug and play makes installation quick.
