Radial Engineering OX8-r

Radial Engineering's OX8 is a Rack 19'' format, 8-channel passive microphone splitter designed to send the outputs of multiple microphones to three different destinations at a time, has an isolated transformer and Ground Lift device to eliminate Hum and Buzz noise caused by Ground Loops.

Key Features:

  • 8-channel balanced microphone signal splitter
  • Very high audio quality without distortion
  • Choice of Jensen or Eclipse transformers
  • Eliminates Hum and Buzz noise caused by ground loops

Microphone Splitter

Radial OX8 is an audio device, professional, equally at home on a live stage as in a broadcast studio. It is capable of splitting (Split), the signal of 8 microphones to multiple destinations simultaneously, all without noise or distortion, eliminating the typical noises of ground loops such as Hum or Buzz (hum). Each channel is configured with a balanced input, a Direct Out that doubles as a return path for 48V phantom power, a Thru-Put with Ground Lift switch, and a fully transformer-isolated output. OX8 can be ordered with the renowned Jensen JT-MB-CPC transformers, or as an alternative, with the more affordable Eclipse ET-MS10s. Each channel also benefits from the very short signal path, and built-in RF filters that ensure quiet performance, even in the most noise-prone environments.

  • XLR microphone input: Standard 600Ώ balance, Input connected in parallel with rear panel D-Sub.
  • Channel identification label: area to be able to write with wax pencil and immediately identify the channel, in the instrument configuration.
  • Attenuation Pad -36db: Reduces input sensitivity to properly connect even line signals without distortion.
  • Ground Lift: Helps eliminate ground loops

Using OX8 to record a live performance

OX8 is ideal for recording live shows. Simply connect microphones on stage to OX8 and send their split signal to the recording system and PA System. Transformers isolate the recording system and eliminate Hum and Buzz noise caused by ground loops.

Using OX8 live with a PA System

There is nothing more annoying than the hum and Hum that can come from stage monitors. OX8 is easily configured to isolate the FOH mixer and monitor mixer to ensure complete elimination of noise. Multiple units can be used for 16 or more channels.

Using OX8 for broadcasting a Live event

The auxiliary output can power the monitors, while the isolated output provides the signal to a control truck. OX8's outstanding sound quality provides a distortion-free feed to the broadcaster, allowing the PA system to operate independently.
