Radial Engineering SW4

Radial Engineering's SW4 is a four-channel balanced audio switch with A/B selector and relay, designed to handle multiple sources, consoles or wireless systems with transformer isolation and accurate level adjustment.

Radial SW4 is a professional four-channel balanced audio switcher that allows you to switch between different audio sources or connect multiple consoles or wireless systems within the same rig, providing greater operational versatility and reliable backup during live performances, events or broadcast productions.

Each channel has balanced XLR female inputs and XLR male outputs isolated via Eclipse ETLD2 transformers, which eliminate hum and interference caused by ground loops, preserving signal integrity. A/B switching for each channel is handled via quality relays, ensuring quiet, artifact-free transfers.

The front panel includes independent trim controls for inputs, switches for bus master activation and A/B channel selection, as well as PFL (prefade listen) functions for monitoring specific sources via headphones before going live. Bus outputs can be assigned to stereo or mono configurations according to system needs.

Robust 14-gauge steel construction and external IEC connector power supply with safety lock ensure reliability even under heavy use. The SW4 is suitable for live, touring or fixed installation environments, with extended frequency response and high dynamics for faithful signal reproduction.

Practical applications of SW4

Switching between wireless systems

SW4 allows selection and switching between multiple wireless systems, enabling the use of backup units or alternate sources without requiring additional audio channels on the mixer. It is also compatible with wireless guitar systems, maintaining signal integrity during switching.

Switching between stereo sources

Use SW4 as a safety backup to switch between two digital playback systems. Connect the left channels to Input 1 and the right channels to Input 2, then connect them together to enable stereo switching.

Switching between two audio consoles

With four channels, you can instantly switch between left, right, front down fill and sub at the touch of a button. The SW4 offers up to +20 dB signal handling, ideal for high-power systems.
