Radial Engineering Relay Xo

Radial Engineering's Relay Xo is an active switcher for balanced mic/line signals that quietly switches a single audio source to two separate XLR outputs, even via remote control. Mechanical relay switching ensures signal integrity, no coloration, and maximum reliability in live and professional applications.

Relay Xo Key Features

  • Redirects the microphone signal for communication.
  • Allows the artist to talk to musicians and technicians.
  • Remotely controllable with optional foot switch.
  • Output connection to switch multiple units simultaneously.

Radial Relay Xo is an active switcher for balanced audio signals designed to precisely route a single mic/line source to two separate destinations while maintaining signal integrity and zero latency. With remote control that can be integrated with optional Radial JR-1 footswitch, it allows the audio stream to be diverted without noise or artifacts, ideal for live performance, communication with engineers or wet/dry path management during live performance. The sealed mechanical relay architecture ensures reliable switching without sound coloration, with robust steel construction and optimal audio path isolation.

Relay Xo basically allows you to:

  • Route a balanced signal (mic or line) from one XLR input to two separate XLR outputs (Output A / Output B).
  • Manually select the active output via built-in switch or control remotely with a Radial JR-1 type footswitch (latching or momentary) or any device with a latching contact.
  • Reduce ground loop noise via Ground Lift function.
  • Connect multiple units in cascade for synchronized multichannel switching via Remote Link.

The audio structure is completely passive and linear, with no buffers or transformers, so as not to alter the harmonic content of the signal. High-quality mechanical relays ensure quiet transitions and durability.

Typical Applications of Relay Xo

Talk-back on stage

Allows the artist to divert the microphone signal from the PA to an intercom or communication channel with technicians

Live Routing

Quick detour between channels: dry and wet for vocal effects during a performance

Integration with wireless systems

Placement of the unit in close proximity to receiving units with remote control on stage.
