Radial Engineering SB-6

Radial Engineering's StageBug SB6 is a two-channel passive stereo isolator that can eliminate noise and hum due to ground loops on balanced or unbalanced signals. It features -15 dB input pad, 180° phase switch and two linear transformers with a smooth frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Notable features

  • Passive stereo audio isolator for balanced and unbalanced signals.
  • Two ultralinear Eclipse isolation transformers with flat 20 Hz-20 kHz +-1 dB response.
  • Input pad -15 dB to handle high-level sources without distortion.
  • 180° polarity switch to correct phase problems in stereo systems.
  • Independent ground lifts on L/R channels to minimize hum from ground loops.
  • Automatic HiZ / LoZ configuration based on connector type.
  • No power supply required-fully passive.

Radial StageBug SB6 is a passive stereo line isolator designed to quickly resolve unwanted noise in professional or semi-pro audio chains. Equipped with isolation transformers on both channels, the SB6 maintains an extremely linear response over the entire audio range and allows you to address common problems such as ground loops or phase misalignment. The presence of an independent input pad and ground lift switches increases operational flexibility on high-level or linelevel balanced/unbalanced sources, while the fully passive design requires zero power supply.

Key Applications

  • Eliminate noise and ground noise in stereo configurations between mixer and amplifier or PA.
  • Clean linelevel signals from consumer or professional devices without additional power supply.
  • Isolate stereo signals in pedalboards or guitar racks to reduce hum and interference.
  • Correct phase between speakers or amplifiers with polarity switch.
  • Handle high output signals with the input pad to avoid clipping or distortion.

Using SB-6 in stereo configuration

SB-6 allows you to isolate the output of a DJ mixer to a power amp, eliminating hum and interference caused by ground loops. Both ¼ mono and TRS jack connectors can be used.

Using SB-6 in professional settings

In systems with multiple speakers, it is common to encounter noise due to poorly balanced power systems or DC offsets. SB-6 allows remote speakers to be isolated, effectively solving these issues.

Using SB-6 in a guitar setup

SB-6 helps eliminate noise by isolating the guitar amplifier from other electronic equipment. It is particularly suitable between pedalboard and amplifier or in conjunction with wireless systems.
