Radial Engineering Shotgun

Radial Engineering's Shotgun is a Multi-output Driver for guitar amplifiers; a device that distributes signals from the instrument to up to 4 amplifiers simultaneously without introducing hum and noise caused by ground loops.

Notable features of Shotgun

  • 1x4 mono or 2x2 stereo operation
  • Isolated outputs for elimination of hum and other noise
  • Outputs that prevent signal loss
  • 180° polarity switching for phase matching of amplifiers

Shotgun is designed for hi-Z impedance instruments, and can be configured for use in Mono with one input and four outputs or in stereo with two inputs and two pairs of outputs. The outputs are individually buffered to handle signal with even very long cables, while outputs 2, 3 and 4 are isolated by transformers to eliminate hum and noise induced by ground loops. Added to this are grounding switches that further help suppress ground loops and 180° polarity reversal switches that ensure phase coherence between all amplifiers. This allows using Shotgun to drive multiple amplifiers or to take the stereo output from a chorus pedal and drive two amplifiers smoothly. Compact and rugged thus suitable for touring Shotgun is powered with a standard 9V adapter (not included) or via a pedalboard power supply.

Applications of Shotgun

Using Shotgun in 1x4 mono mode

Shotgun offers total freedom to connect the pedalboard output to amplifiers, effects, or the PA. Isolated outputs eliminate annoying ground loop hum.

Using Shotgun in 2x2 stereo mode

Connect your stereo chorus and Shotgun will provide a noise-free stereo signal, automatically rebalancing the load to maintain your tone.

Using Shotgun in the studio

Shotgun can be used to split the guitar signal to various effects, amps and a direct speaker, so you can reamp your guitar solo later.
