Radial Engineering Exo-Pod

Radial Engineering's Exo-Pod is a passive Broadcast Splitter with line inputs that can take a balanced line output from a mixing console and distribute the signal to up to 14 recording devices. Multiple units can also be connected to create a larger modular system with a large number of outputs simultaneously.

Notable features

  • Passive splitter with 14 transformer-isolated outputs
  • Trim control to adjust output levels
  • Balanced XLR line-level input can handle up to +24dB
  • Daisy-chaining of multiple Exo-Pods for larger events

The compact floor-box features a 14-gauge steel frame that withstands the rigors of touring. The steel frame also provides excellent protection against magnetic fields produced by lighting dimmers, power transformers and electrical cables. The protective bumper preserves the connectors and trim switch, and the sturdy steel handle allows Exo-Pod to be carried with ease. Connection to and from Exo-Pod starts with one balanced XLR input, ten balanced XLR outputs, and four 3.5 mm TRS mini connectors for camcorders, portable recorders, tablets, or other multimedia systems. An input adjustment trim allows the broadcast engineer to reduce the output level locally. All outputs are transformer-isolated to eliminate noise and hum often caused by ground loops. XLR outputs are integrated with individual ground lift switches for further noise reduction. Exo-Pod is totally passive, requiring no power supply. Simply connect your line-level source to feed up to 14 microphone inputs at once with excellent audio performance, excellent noise-to-signal ratio, and plenty of headroom.

Applications of Exo-Pod

Using the Exo-Pod as a simple broadcast splitter

The passive Exo-Pod easily integrates with any mixer using a +4dB line-level power supply. All outputs of the Exo-Pod are isolated by a transformer to eliminate hum and vibration.

Use the Exo-Pod for assemblies

In addition to powering the press box, send the signal to the microphone inputs of your PA speakers to fill your meeting room or conference space.

Combine multiple Exo-Pods for larger events

Multiple Exo-Pods can be linked together to create dozens of outputs for large events. Use the feed-through sockets on the Ecxo-Pod to daisy-chain the units to each other.
