Radial Engineering Headlight

Radial Engineering's Headlight is a four-output unity-gain guitar amplifier selector switch. It is designed to integrate easily into professional pedalboards by allowing switching between amps using a single footswitch.

Headlight Key Features

- Four-amp output switch with sequential switching.

- Isolated outputs to eliminate hum and hiss.

- Compact size that fits easily into a pedalboard.

- Mute footswitch for silent tuning on stage.

Controls up to four amplifiers

Headlight is made in a compact format that integrates easily into any pedalboard, yet still offers enough power to drive up to four amplifiers without loss of sound quality. The input uses a Class A buffer with Drag Control load control, which allows the pickup impedance to be optimized and reproduce the same feel as connecting the guitar directly to the amplifier. The outputs are isolated using custom transformers so that hum and interference from ground loops are eliminated; there are also ground lift switches to further reduce any noise problems. If you need maximum volume or want to activate all amps together, the Mute pedal can be configured in All On mode, enabling all four outputs simultaneously.

Practical applications of Headlight

Driving four amplifiers on stage

Use Headlight to switch between amps and create the perfect setup for clean, crunch, overdrive sounds and powerful solos! Just press the footswitch to choose the amp you want. Super bright LEDs let you know which amp is active. Use the mute pedal to tune your guitar silently on stage.

Using Headlight as an ABY

Connect your two amps using outputs 1 and 2 and select between them using the right pedal. Set the left pedal to ALL-ON, and when pressed, both amps will play. Isolation transformers will prevent hum and other noise from ground loops when both amplifiers are on.

Using Headlight with DI boxes and amplifiers

Using Headlight, both direct boxes and amplifiers can be powered. The outputs of direct boxes can be sent directly to the mixer, and stage amplifiers can be miked.
