8 metronome sounds, including mechanical metronome sound

Design is not the only element by which this unit resembles a mechanical metronome. In fact, KDM-3 BK also possesses the typical sound produced by a traditional metronome. To suit various musical needs, it is of course also possible to choose from other timbres including: Cowbell (cowbell), Rimshot or voice. All these sounds are defined, easy to hear, and always perfectly audible, even in the presence of other instruments.

19 Beat Patterns that can support any genre of music

On KDM-3 BK it is possible to set the traditional movements (Beat) of beats from 0 to 9, choosing from duets, triplets, triplets with the middle value omitted, fourths, and fourths with the middle values omitted. In addition to these there are other variations such as Son Clave and Rumba Clave, for a total of 19 internal Patterns. The tempo speed can be easily set from 32 to 252 BPM. From classical to Pop, Jazz and Latin, this unit can meet all rhythmic support needs in a wide range of musical genres and styles.

Convenient Timer mode for practicing

This function starts the metronome for a set period of time and then stops it automatically; it is very convenient for warming up or practicing rhythmic rudiments.

One-Touch operations and wide-view display

The START/STOP button located at the top of the unit flashes in two colors, red and green, thus providing a clear visual indication of time. You can also practice with the volume set to zero. The TEMPO/CALIB knob on the top panel makes it easy to enter the necessary numerical settings, which are always clearly visible on the large display.

Sound Out mode for tuning while listening to a reference sound signal

Sound Out mode produces a reference signal from the built-in speaker, or headphones, thus allowing you to tune your instrument by ear. It can generate 12 different tones in a range from C4 (261.63 Hz) to B4 (493.88 Hz). The reference frequency (Diapason), can be adjusted from 410 Hz to 480 Hz.

Adjusting the tempo speed

You can set the tempo speed by three different methods:

  • Pendulum Step, which allows you to increase or decrease the tempo speed in the same numerical increments as a traditional metronome.
  • Full Step, determines the metronomic speed by individual increments in a range from 30 to 252 BPM.
  • Tap Tempo, sets the speed by simply tapping the TAP key in time.

Memory Backup and Auto Power-Off

The Memory Backup function stores the set parameters related to tempo speed, Beat, calibration, and reference frequency, even after the metronome is turned off (*). Auto Power Off automatically turns off the unit after 20 minutes of inactivity.

(*) These settings are initialized after the batteries are replaced

Operating autonomy

KDM-3 BK provides approximately 120 hours of operating time for continuous use at 120 BPM and maximum volume. Even when practicing daily, there is no need to worry about the remaining battery power.
