Radial Engineering Backtrack

Radial Backtrack is a compact stereo switcher that allows quick switching between two stereo audio sources (A/B) in live or playback settings. Features ¼ TRS and 3.5 mm inputs, transformer-isolated XLR outputs and ground lift to eliminate hum and buzz from ground loops, headphone output with level and Cue selection, and remote control via JR-2 footswitch (optional). Backtrack is designed to provide continuity and control over stereo audio sources in situations where stability is crucial, such as performances with backing tracks, presentations or live entertainment systems. Switching between two stereo sources is via the A/B switch, with remote control via JR-2 footswitch (not included), allowing quick selection of the active source without interrupting the signal sent to the PA system or monitors.

The main output section uses isolation transformers to reduce ground noise and interference, while ground lift on XLR outputs further eliminates unwanted buzz caused by ground loops. Headphone output with level control and input selector allows silent cueing of tracks before switching, without affecting the main audio signal

The audio circuit is passive, preserving signal integrity between inputs and outputs, while a dedicated active amplifier handles the headphone output. The 14-gauge steel construction ensures strength and durability even in heavy stage use.
