Radial Engineering W-R3 Powerstrip

The PowerStrip is a powered rack with space for 3 modules 500 series format, designed to give anyone the opportunity to have the pleasure of using these products.

Unlike other single-unit powered racks that are limited to accommodating only 2 modules, the innovative triple-module design allows you to create a traditional channel strip, combining a mic preamp with an equalizer and dynamics control using a compressor-limiter, all within the confines of a single 19 rack unit. With such a wide range of module choices available today, this opens the door to creating unique signal paths to make your music unique as well. Following the criteria established by the Radial Workhorse, the PowerStrip is 100 percent compatible with older API modules while being optimized for Radial's ever-expanding series of preamplifiers, processors and routing equipment. The PowerStrip is constructed of 14-gauge steel and features 15-pin EDAC connectors with double gold contacts to achieve excellent signal transfer.

To maximize headroom, the external power supply provides 500mA of current for modules that demand high voltage, as well as separately providing an additional 10mA of current for 48V phantom power for mic preamps. The rear panel offers standard XLR connectors for each slot as well as ¼ TRS connectors for cross patching or parallel processing. Instead of having to connect the various modules to each other using a cable, the PowerStrip incorporates an innovative feature via a switch called a feed that instantly connects the signal to the adjacent module. This makes it easy to quickly build signal chains and eliminates the need for additional cables.

Unlike the old racks that required soldering when using the modules in stereo, the PowerStrip has a stereo link function that takes care of this task simply by the insertion of a switch. The PowerStrip also has an Omniport connection for each slot. This TRS jack allows the manufacturer to implement a particular function such as a key for a gate. The PowerStrip makes it easy to assemble a variety of modules to create the best channel strip for your needs. Its compact one-rack-unit design is ideal in the studio or on tour.
