Shure VP88 Stereo coincident pair condenser microphone

The VP88 is a condenser microphone, with a stereo coincident pair configuration suitable for stage, reportage or studio recording. It incorporates two capsules; one capsule (Mid), with a cardioid polar characteristic, faces forward to pick up sounds on axis, while the other capsule (Side) has a bidirectional polar characteristic, so it picks up sounds from both sides. The VP88 has an internal M-S matrix, which offers a choice of three stereo image separation settings. This can be excluded if necessary if an external M-S matrix is used in post-production. It operates on phantom power or internal 6V battery. It is an excellent choice for recording a grand piano, as a drum overhead, or for any ambient recording. Frequency response: 40 Hz to 20 kHz. Low frequency attenuation selector (-12 dB/octave below 80 Hz). Comes with WA371 pole clamp, a Y-cable from XLR5 female to two XLR males and a carrying case.
