The Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer RX5-DF Down Fire is a decoupling platform specifically designed for near-field monitors. It has been engineered specifically to minimize vibrations caused by speaker movement.
The Recoil Stabilizer consists of three layers. A high-density urethane foam base acts as an insulator to prevent the transmission of vibrations to the support surface. A laser-cut steel plate serves both as a platform for the speaker and as a stabilizing mass. Finally, a thin, non-slip neoprene sheet is used to hold the monitor securely in place. The Recoil Stabilizer works simply by placing the speaker on the stand; no additional steps are required. All Recoil Stabilizers are available in three versions that allow you to angle the speaker not only horizontally but also upward or downward.
By reducing speaker vibration, you immediately notice that transients are clearer and more precise. Upon first listen, you'll notice more punch and a broader, more defined low-frequency range. After further listening, you'll begin to notice greater detail across all frequencies, improved transient response, and a significantly more defined stereo image. By eliminating all resonances caused by the speakers resting on your stands or mounts, your mixes will sound their best.
The Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer RX5-DF is a near-field monitor decoupler consisting of four key components:
Down Fire - The DF (down-fire) model features a 5° downward angle to compensate for the additional 5 cm in height that the stabilizer adds once installed. This is often a good choice when the monitors will be placed on a raised, non-adjustable surface, such as a mixing console's meter bridge or fixed stands.
