Notable Features of KORG CA-2

  • Virtual Needle Meter, with wide visibility of note and string names
  • Slim and lightweight compact body
  • Tuning functions compatible with many instruments
  • Approximately 200 hours of continuous use of battery life

Virtual Needle Meter, with wide visibility of note and string names

Korg's virtual needle meter capable of displaying note and string names with speed and accuracy is now about four times larger, making it even easier to read the values. Two LEDs, one green the other red signal changes in pitch making tuning itself easier.

Thin and light compact body

CA-2 is a pocket-sized tuner that is lightweight and easy to carry. Its Design is even more stylish and ergonomic, comfortable to hold. CA-2 has been equipped with a new battery compartment provided with a mechanism that allows their replacement by sliding the whole body, without the risk of losing the cover itself.

Wide range of tuning frequency detection compatible with many instruments

CA-2 possesses wide frequency detection range from: A0 up to C8 which enables fast and high-precision tuning of wind instruments, strings, keyboards, etc. In addition to the high-sensitivity internal microphone, it is also possible to connect the contact microphone (optional), which can be used to send the vibrations of the instrument to be tuned directly to CA-2 for even more accurate tuning.

Adjustable for a wide range of concert tuning forks

The calibration function can be adjusted in 1 Hz steps from 410 to 480 Hz, so that it can be adapted to any genre, style, and pitch.

Major and minor thirds pure

Inaccuracies in the pitch of notes in a triad are especially easy to notice when they are played by an instrumental group such as a brass band or orchestra. By slightly adjusting the frequency of a major or minor third interval relative to the corresponding tempered interval, magnificent pure third intervals can be achieved. The CA-2 Meter scale has special reference points to indicate major and minor third intervals, relative to a specific pitch. By simply tuning your instrument to these reference points, playing in an ensemble will result in beautiful pure harmonies.

(*) The choice of notes to be tuned by tuning pure major or minor thirds may depend on the type of music you are going to perform.

Sound Mode produces a reference signal from the built-in speaker

In addition to visual tuning using the Meter, it is also possible to tune by ear using Sound Mode, which produces a reference sound signal that can be chromatically adjusted in the range of C4 to C5.

Approximately 200 hours of continuous use

The low-power design incredibly allows continuous battery life for about 100 hours with regular zinc-carbon batteries, and about 200 hours with alkaline batteries!
