KORG VPT-1 VOCAL PITCH TRAINER an instrument with unique functions designed and made especially for improving one's vocal skills. Easy and intuitive to use it is held in the palm of your hand, its Layout features a large Control Display that displays the detected input frequencies in musical notation.

A step forward in the study of singing to achieve correct intonation every time. The human voice is the most important of musical instruments, and its intonation is one of the fundamental parameters; for every vocalist or singer especially in the study phase, it is important to constantly check one's intonation level.

From KORG a leading company in the field of tuners a unit dedicated to vocal pitch training

VPT-1 is a Pitch Trainer a unit that is specially designed to practice the voice by taking advantage of KORG's remarkable Know-How in the more than 40 years of making tuners that are highly appreciated by all musicians. This instrument allows one to advance awareness of the accuracy of vocal intonation, based on the assumption that the recording of one's voice is perceived differently from what is actually heard, as sound follows different paths. You basically use the same principle that guides the precision of intonation of other instruments, applying it in daily voice practice.

How it works

VPT-1 has an internal microphone that can pick up your voice; as you sing, the frequency emitted is detected and displayed on the musical staff equipped with a double key: G (violin) and F (bass), The red LEDs on the left show the status of the current pitch: too high or too low, so you can then adjust your vocal output until the Blue LED in the center lights up indicating the correct pitch. Vocal register differences can be easily adjusted using the OCTAVE SHIFT buttons, which precisely shift the detected frequency one octave up or down to maintain the correct display in the notes within the musical staff.

Three adjustable levels of difficulty

Accuracy in tuning detection can be set to three levels: you can start with EASY (easy), and as you gain more confidence, increase the difficulty to MEDIUM and then HARD to achieve further improvements in pitch accuracy.

The Sound Out function generates a reference frequency

This function helps those who lack the absolute ear by generating a sound at a determinable frequency, so you can practice or study a singing part using this sound as a basic reference, and guide for the complete performance of the musical part.

The Sound Back function generates the reference signal closest to the vocal input (*)

This function like the previous one also serves for the improvement of individual perception of intonation; it is first necessary to connect a pair of headphones to VPT-1, from these in fact a reference signal is emitted as close as possible to that produced by the input vocal signal, while at the same time the LEDs display any correctness or discrepancy in intonation, thus helping the achievement of a correct result. * Available only by connecting headphones.
