Korg PB-XS TUNER

KORG's Pitchblack XS is a newly developed pedal tuner with a unique and compact design. It adopts the unique solution of integrating the trigger switch into the large display which further reduces its size. Display and LED METER are adjustable in brightness with 4 frequency visulization modes. Adopts innovative TRUE BYPASS and ULTRA BUFFER circuits that eliminate timbral degradation of the signal. Provides high-precision tuning only +-0.1 cent tolerance and built-in just-right tuning mode. It is powered by AC adapter (optional), ideal for installation in busy pedalboards.

Switching between TRUE BYPASS and the new ULTRA BUFFER

In addition to having a TRUE BYPASS circuit that leaves the input sound unaffected, Pitchblack XS now also includes the new ULTRA BUFFER. But why is this aspect so important?

Most electric guitars use passive pickups with high impedance output. Using cables over 20 feet in length results in timbre degradation usually at high frequencies; a phenomenon that tends to worsen by using longer cables. The BUFFER boosts the signal on long cables to avoid precisely this tonal alteration, keeping the sound clear and clean even with the pedal off. ULTRA BUFFER improves sound quality in Bypass mode to maintain sound quality even when using long cables to connect the tuner or installing it in an articulated effects pedalboard. On Pitchblack XS, you can select TRUE BYPASS or ULTRA BUFFER, depending on your personal taste and needs.

Unique and compact design with a large display

Pitchblack XS features a unique design with the footswitch integrated into the display, a factor that allowed for a balance of size, sturdiness, and visibility of the display itself. Possessing a sturdy cabinet with a durable powder-coated finish, the switch is always responsive wherever it is pressed regardless of the position or angle of the foot or pedal itself.

The LED METER can adjust the light mode for better visibility.

On Pitchblack XS for better visibility performance, a larger display and more LEDs were introduced in the METER. The Bright Mode (brightness adjustment) can be adjusted to 2 levels to achieve optimal visibility even under critical operating conditions such as on brightly lit stages, or outdoors.

Very high tuning accuracy down to 0.1 cent tolerance.

Pitchblack XS enables fast and accurate tuning with a tolerance of only 0.1 cents when in Strobe mode; this makes it the ideal tool for professional Live or Recording situations where intonation is a key parameter where no approximations or inaccuracies are allowed.

METER with 4 Display Modes

On the Meter Display you can choose according to your personal needs from 4 types of display during tuning: REGULAR, STROBE, HALF STROBE, indicate pitch changes from the direction and fluctuation of the METER, to distinguish even the smallest pitch differences; MIRROR on the other hand displays two LEDs on the left and right that cross towards the center.

Display with JUST-RIGHT TUNING Function

Pitchblack XS has a new display function JUST-RIGHT TUNING, which makes the triangular LEDs located on both sides flash when the tuning is correct, a convenient function of real help to every musician!
