The best system for a foolproof set up! GO.8 is an automatic switcher for backing tracks with back up. It can automatically switch 8 audio channels, a Midi line, and a
video line. GO.8 works with B.Beat and with computer-based systems.
GO.8 is an automatic switcher for redundant backup management. It can automatically switch between 8 audio channels, a Midi line and a video line. Switching can take place between two audio players such as a computer with a sequencer, or two B.Beat or other sound and/or video sources.
GO.8 is ideal for live concerts and theatrical performances where Backing Tracks, Midi tracks and Videos are used and cannot be interrupted.
GO.8 uses a gate that detects when the main machine crashes and switches to the “backup” machine in real time, guaranteeing continuity even in the event of a failure.
Two groups of audio inputs (with 8 balanced channels), two video inputs and two Midi inputs are available and switching between the two groups is automatic via a specific SYNCH audio signal (sinusoidal, at a frequency of 1 kHz) on channel 8 of the GO.8. As soon as the lack of this signal is detected, the device switches to the B input group (redundant).
Switching can also be done manually using the SELECT button on the front panel.
Housed in a sturdy 19“ steel rack GO.8 is equipped with input connectors to choose between 25-pin D-sub or 1/4” TRS sockets with D-Sub and XLR outputs.
The XLR sockets on the front panel produce a balanced microphone level DI signal to feed a snake system and are transformer isolated to eliminate hum and buzz caused by ground loops.
The D-Sub connectors on the rear panel provide direct line-level balanced connectivity.
Using M-Live products from the B.Beat line, it is possible to send the SYNCH signal mixed to audio tracks on input 8 of the GO.8 (both Jack and DB25).
This allows you to use all the outputs available on B.Beat without having to sacrifice one for the operation of the GO.8.
For complex configurations, it is possible to connect more than one GO.8 to create 16, 24 or 32 track systems.
In the diagram on the side, two GO.8 are connected in cascade to manage 16 audio channels generated by B.Beat PRO16.
In addition, the Midi and Video signals are connected, which GO.8 can manage in redundancy like the Audio signal.
GO.8 is also suitable for use with computers.
In this case it is necessary to use one of the audio tracks as a Drone, so that GO.8 has the appropriate signal to perform the switch in case of a crash by the main computer, or Main.
It will be necessary to record an audio track on the DAW with a technical signal that will guide GO.8. This track is not necessary if two B.Beats are used for the Backing Tracks.
GO.8 is the ideal device for building a foolproof system, capable of preventing any kind of on-stage crash.
GO.8 has a function for reading the SMPTE timecode as an LTC signal from channel 7 (both group A and B) for real-time verification of the timecode value.
The power supply of the unit is also redundant: it is possible to connect two power supplies to prevent shutdown due to failure of one power supply.
The best system for building a foolproof setup on stage!
