Genelec S360AP SAM

In keeping with its intention to offer audio solutions for all kinds of applications, Genelec has announced globally the new S360 two-way High-SPL SAM monitors and the 7382 subwoofer. Both models are ideal for those situations where high acoustic power or long-distance listening is required: from immersive setups for post-production studios and cinema mix rooms to live monitoring for music production or EDM playback.

Housed in a compact, minimum-diffraction wooden enclosure (strictly Finnish), the S360s have a highly efficient, minimum-distortion 10-inch woofer based on Genelec's Master Series line, as well as an integrated waveguide around the 1.7-inch titanium tweeter (horn loaded). The result combines the linearity that has made Genelec famous with a short-term SPL of 118 dB SPL-with even higher peaks-and a long throw that allows accurate listening even at distances of 10 meters. The S360s offer the benefits of a main monitor in a condensed form, with its excellent on-axis characteristics and coloration-free dispersion up to 95° horizontal and 75° vertical. The S360s' enclosure offers versatile in-wall and on-wall installation options, while integrated, downward-pointing LIP reflex ports ensure tight, noise-free bass output that is perfectly suited for use with perforated screens.

Alternatively, when S360s are used without a stand, the innovative Iso-Plate effectively decouples the monitor from its base, thus not hindering bass reflex and preventing mechanical vibration. Further flexibility comes from the electronics, which can be integrated into the cabinet or remotely positioned. Realizing that the production of good content depends on the correct placement of the monitors, their alignment in time and level, and compensation for room acoustic characteristics, the S360s are fully compatible with GLM software, allowing configuration, calibration and control of more than 40 channels without the need for additional external processing.

The ideal companion for both the S360s and other Genelec large monitors is the 7382-the most powerful Genelec subwoofer. Capable of delivering precise and powerful low-frequency extension down to 15Hz, the Genelec 7382 houses three specially designed long-range 15-inch woofers. Every construction choice, from the vibration-free reinforced chassis and a bass reflex extending along the entire back wall, is designed to ensure the lowest possible distortion and compression-free performance, even when the 7382 reaches output levels of 130 dB SPL.

Based on decades of research, the 7382 also works with GLM software's bass management technology to solve the typical problems of placing a subwoofer in untreated rooms-or even to build entire Genelec subwoofer arrays.
