Genelec 8040BMM

The performance of the Genelec 8040B system, compact bi-amplified monitors, is comparable to higher-end systems. Ideal in all cases where a wide frequency response is needed even in small spaces. The most common uses for this product are as nearfield in project/home studio, workstation, control room, broadcast, TV and mobile media.

ISS function

The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) function reduces the power consumption of the system to less than 0.5 watts by putting the monitor on standby automatically when no signal is detected on the inputs for a specified amount of time. As soon as an input audio signal is detected, the system is turned back on instantly. This feature is compatible with the new EU standards and the 2013 ErP Directive.

Reflex Duct

The reflex duct is designed to provide clear and defined bass in the absence of distortion, compression or noise.

DCW Technology and Design

The combination of the waveguide control, Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), rounded corners, and the subtle curvature of both the front and cabinet, MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure), ensures a surprisingly flat frequency response both on- and off-axis. Another great advantage is extremely accurate and detailed imaging and minimal listening fatigue.

Crossover Filter System

A sophisticated crossover filter system treats the signal being sent to the amplifiers: each ultra-low distortion speaker has a dedicated one. 8040B is equipped as standard with magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry and a versatile room correction system.

Mounting and Positioning

Holes in the back allow proper and secure wall mounting. Each 8040B is equipped with Iso-Pod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler), a stand that eliminates any sound coloration by decoupling the monitor from the surface on which it is placed. Iso-Pod also allows the monitor to be angled to point it perfectly toward the listener. For ideal placement in any type of environment, Genelec 8040B includes rear support points for floor or wall stands, as well as an M10 hole on the base.
