Genelec 8050BWM

Genelec 8050B is a powerful bi-amplified monitoring system, capable of a sound pressure of as much as 120 dB SPL per pair, with a frequency response as low as 35 Hz. The ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) function reduces the system's power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by putting the monitor on standby automatically when no signal is detected on the inputs for a specified amount of time. As soon as an input audio signal is detected, the system is turned back on instantly.

This ISS function is compatible with the new EU regulations and the 2013 ErP Directive regulating the consumption of electronic equipment. It is an excellent tool for large recording studios, broadcast and surround sound installations, mastering studios, post-production and TV. The sophisticated active crossover filter has versatile controls to best match the speaker's response to the listening environment.

Each driver is driven by a dedicated low-distortion amplifier with dedicated protection circuitry. The reflex port is designed to provide clear, defined bass in the absence of distortion, compression or noise. The combination of the waveguide control, Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), rounded corners and the subtle curvature of both the front and cabinet, MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure), result in a surprisingly flat frequency response, both on- and off-axis.

Another major advantage is extremely accurate and detailed imaging and minimal listening fatigue.

Mounting the 8050B is made easy by Iso-Pods(Isolation Positioner/Decoupler): stands that can eliminate any sound coloration by decoupling the monitor from the surface on which it is placed. Iso-Pods also allow the monitor to be angled in order to point it perfectly on axis toward the listener. Additional rear support points for floor or wall stands, as well as an M10 hole on the base, complete the options for positioning.
